Due to Wobblers disease, a degeneration of the spine, my Great Dane Winston became totally paralyzed and had to have emergency surgery.
For six weeks Winston could not stand, turn or move on his own.
Peter played a huge part in Winston’s recovery. Nothing was too much trouble for Peter; he came to the specialist hospital to apply therapeutic massage after Winston’s surgery and also massaged Winston weekly after he returned home.
Now, when Peter walks into the house Winston RUNS to his bed and lays down waiting for Peter’s healing hands to soothe his tight muscles.

Recently I left Winston and Pepper, my 17 year old poodle in Peter’s care for two weeks when I had to go over to England.
What a relief to come home to find two completely content dogs and neither had lost any weight from stress, which is the usual scenario even at the best of kennels.
The icing on the cake was the delightful surprise of returning to a clean house and welcome home flowers, wine, chocolates and warm wishes, which just goes to show that Peter goes above and beyond for both his canine and human clients.

Teach old dogs new tricks? Dianne can.
A wonderful dog at home, our beloved six year old Rottweiler Jessie was also anxious and responded to some situations and strangers with aggression. With her calm, assertive and affectionate model of training Dianne has patiently turned her behaviour around. This has meant a much happier and confident dog that can now enjoy socialising with dogs and people without misbehaving.
It doesn’t stop there however because we needed retraining too.
The responsibility for managing a dog with behavioural problems lay with us.
We’d sought help before without lasting success. With Dianne’s support we have increased our own understanding about the complexity of the dog world and the importance of our own behaviour and leadership – like Jessie we are more confident and happier as well.

I am delighted to be given this opportunity to sing the praises of Dianne Porter in her work with my beloved dog Bowie.

Bowie came to me after overstaying his welcome at the pound 6 years ago. He is a dear little dog in every sense but walking him was a nightmare. In short, we did not go for walks, but ordeals. He would bark at every dog, person and moveable object. I sought the help of trainers and behaviourists. Bowie was eventually put on chemical restraints to assist with his "issues". They did not appear to make any difference.

Then one day a friend put me in contact with Dianne.  What is so brilliant about Dianne is her patience and calm perseverance.

She does not lecture or judge. She also does not promise any quick fixes.

Dianne is not only able to teach the skills of dog training in simple terms but she also ensures that she instills confidence in her human pupils. Ultimately that has to be the key to successful training.

I can now look forward to walking Bowie. An experience I used to dread is now one, which has immeasurably increased the quality of life for both of us. I cannot put it more simply than that.

Three cheers (with much less barks) for Dianne.

We loved puppy classpuppy lloyd

Our Great Dane Lloyd needed training and early socialisation before he got too big.           We expected the first few classes would be playtime and not much more.

We didn’t expect all the puppies to learn so well and so quickly, or for us to learn to how to train them so rapidly.

We were also given lots of guidance on how to deal with other issues such as mouthing/biting

and toilet training.

Dianne always has time to answer questions about specific issues you are experiencing with your puppy and gives you the confidence to persevere.

Thanks Dianne we really learnt a lot, surpassed our expectations.

The reason we chose that vet was because we had heard about Dianne’s puppy classes and they were as great as people said.
